NOTE TO THE INTERNSHIP PROVIDER:
Internships involve significant, high-level exposure and participation in the work of an established career. To ensure Middlebury students receive an experience that offers intellectual growth and/or professional experience directly related to the intern’s major or intended postgraduate career, the internship sponsor agrees to the following:
• The Sponsor will designate a staff person to serve as supervisor of the intern.

• The internship supervisor will:
o Assist the intern in the development of goals and objectives;
o Provide a structured list of the intern’s expected responsibilities
o Meet with the intern regularly to provide guidance and constructive feedback
o Participate in a mid-course informal evaluation with the intern
o Complete a written evaluation at the end of the internship

• The Sponsor will provide:
o Adequate training and supervision to ensure that the experience is a “learning experience”
o A safe and productive working environment, which fosters professionalism and ethical business conduct
o An adequate number of weekly hours throughout the agreed upon internship duration
