		<description>I think that anytime an *entire element* is the link, an underline&#039;s unhelpful. If a news item has a teaser/summary, you might want that to all be linked, but an underline would make it hard to read.  Same goes for lists of links, as you note.

The &lt;code&gt;p a {text-decoration:underline;}&lt;/code&gt; thing is an imperfect but usually dependable way to separate those two things.  Links that are congruent with *semantic elements* like list items, news summaries, headlines, etc. usually aren&#039;t inside paragraph tags, they&#039;re usually fairly easy to identify as links, and they usually look better without underlines.</description>
