please add a wysiwig editor to the wiki!
Our present wiki — MediaWiki — doesn’t have a wysiwig editor, which means that to do anything with formatting you need to use HTML or wikimarkup, neither of which are very user-friendly. Can we add a wysiwig editor to our installation?

We agree that having a wysiwig editor is important, and we are actively investigating options. We hope to identify a good editor by November 1st. In the meantime, you can take advantage of the simple text editor in Mediawiki that does provide the following formatting functions:
* Bold
* Italic
* Internal link (a link to a page within the wiki)
* External link (a link to any location on the web)
* Header
* Embed and image
* Embed a media file
* Embed a Mathematical Formula
* Ignore Wiki Formatting
* Add Your Signature with a Timestamp
* Add Horizontal Rule
If you do not see these buttons
1. Click on the “my preferences” link in the upper right-hand corner.
2. Click on the EDITING tab.
3. Click the checkbox next to “Show edit toolbar (JavaScript).”
Thanks, Joe, for these directions!
Thank you for sharing this innovative new approach!
