Postcard from Vancouver

Middlebury alums Garrott Kuzzy ’06 and Simeon Hamilton ’09 (left) continue to represent the red, white, and blue (and Panther blue and white) at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.

The former collegiate All-Americans in nordic skiing have each completed two events—the 15km skate and the 1.5 km classic sprint. Up next for Garrott, the 30km pursuit on Saturday and the 50km classic a week from Sunday. Simi will be competing in the 3×1.5km Team Sprint on Monday. Both skiers have a shot at being named to the U.S.’s 4×10km relay team, which competes on Wednesday, February 24.

Garrott and Simi are two of only six American male cross-country skiers chosen to compete in Vancouver.

You can follow Garrott on his blog.

Simi has been blogging at Middlebury’s Nordic ski team blog.

  1. It’s important to note that NBC’s Cross Country Commentator, Chad Salmela, also graduated from Middlebury.
