This Old House
Once the stately home for several Middlebury presidents, as well as the college’s first women’s dorm, this campus and town classic is being restored to its former glory for use as college offices. The college recently purchased the property, which had been in private hands for several decades, and began the renovation process. See what Project Manager Tom McGinn has to say about the process and the location’s historical significance.

What a terrific way to bring alumni ‘back’ to campus. Congratulations on a great acquisition and a wonderful effort to inform the community about our shared history.
I just did an extensive research paper about the history of women at Middlebury and how they influenced the campus layout for a geography class this past Spring, and I read all about this house. It’s great to see that it is back in the College’s possession and being restored.
