The ConnectEd Conference will focus on the changes in education brought about by globalization and technology: how institutions adapt to change, what changes are anticipated, and how to harness change to promote and improve education throughout the world.”
Architecture Awards Go to KieranTimberlake Associates, Stanley Tigerman – Chronicle.com: “The American Institute of Architects is giving its 2008 Architecture Firm Award to KieranTimberlake Associates, which has designed buildings and planned renovations for a number of colleges,” including the recently completed Atwater residence and dining halls at Middlebury College.

Vermont Edition Interview: Middlebury College Psychology Professor Barbara Hofer on the “Electronic Tether”: “A few years ago Middlebury College Psychology Professor Barbara Hofer noticed that her students were using their cell phones to call their parents … a lot. And she got curious about whether what she calls the ‘electronic tether’ of the cell phone delays adulthood in college kids. So she teamed up with several of her students to create a study looking at how people communicate with their parents during the college years. VPR’s Jane Lindholm stopped by Professor Hofer’s office to talk about the study.”
