October 21st, 2008 by Mary Ellen Bertolini- Remember new PWTs attend 6 sessions (the Org Meeting+ 5 training sessions).
- Trained PWTs attend, at least, 4 sessions (Org Meeting, Session 1 or 2, and 2 more sessions). Trained PWTS may substitute one lunch or one RefWorks training for one session.
- All of these sessions (including lunches and RefWorks) are paid.

first RefWorks training session coming up on Tuesday, October 21st, from 7-8 pm in LIB 105.

second RefWorks session (for those who cannot attend the first session) on Wednesday, October 29th, from 7-8 pm in LIB 105.

Friday, October 31–First year seminars in Wonnacott and Atwater Commons

Speaking topics can be about current affairs such as the upcoming presidential election, cultural questions, and topics raised by students. This can also be a practice forum for oral presentations that you need to give in other classes.
Grammar day will always have a different point presented, but the focus can be changed according to popular consensus. All questions welcome.

October 2nd, 2008 by Mary Ellen BertoliniCTLR will hold three lunches this fall for faculty teaching first-year seminars. Peer Writing Tutor will be invited along with other members of the resource teams (librarians, ACEs, Educational Technoligists, tech tutors) and commons heads and Deans. Trained PWTS can use this lunch as one of their three training sessions. Both new and trained PWTs will be paid for attendng.
All lunches will take place in CTLR (Lib 225) from 12:15-1:30. Come for any or all of the time.
